De fantasie van kinderen uit groep 3/4
Een kleurplaat van 9/11

COMMENTS
Ik vind het super interesant om te zien hoe de gedachtengang en fantazie van kinderen werkt en hoe ze een afbeelding en of een gebeurtenis op hun eigen manier interpreteren en zich eigen maken.

ABOUT

Biophilia is the eighth studio album by Björk. Billed as the first “app album”, Biophilia is a multimedia project released alongside a series of apps linking the album’s themes to musicology concepts. It was also followed by a series of educational workshops in four continents.
The Biophilia app consists of a series of 10 separate apps, one for each song, all included in a “mother app” which contains a menu made up by a three-dimensional constellation which the user can shift, zoom and orbit by swiping their fingers to open the apps. The first time the app is opened, an introduction by David Attenborough describes the application and the project itself.[59] This introduction was also used to open the Biophilia Tour residency concerts.

CREATOR

The creator of the album is Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk. Music critics have consistently championed Björk’s work, praising her innovative approach to singing and composition, her pioneering use of electronic beats, her groundbreaking music videos, and, above all, her singular voice, describing her as “the most important and forward-looking musician of her generation” and “the best non-pop female vocalist of the last 30 years”.

RULES / RESTRICTIONS

The app is available on various devices and smartphone app stores. Every app is a subcategory of a ‘mother’ app and each represent a song of the Biophilia album. The apps are roughly divided into two kinds: the ones in which the user play a sort of games, and the other ones that work like a musical instrument. You can only use the screen and the options that are provided with every app song, however the user can already create very varying compositions with these tools.

COMMENTS

Awesome project. Björk truly knows how to innovate and keep the interest of the public.

I like the id to use old postcards. I find the idea to use old cards cool. People send a handwritten card which she then used her art. Other people are the basis for its collection

About

The Cornell Fashion Collective, formerly the Cornell Design League, is a student-run organization that provides members of the Cornell community with an outlet to express creativity in fashion and fashion management. Each spring, our organization presents a professional runway show featuring the talent of students who both design apparel and manage the operations of the show. Our organization gives students, both undergraduate and graduate, the opportunity to practice design, demonstrate their talents, and learn how to produce a large-scale fashion event.

Comments

The students learn how to produce a fashionshow. This is a good way to learn about organization and working on a team. The experience could be usefull for anything you will achieve in your future carreer.

Amsterdam based photographer Jaimie Peeters always comes up with new inspirations and started a new series called “The Girls at Home Project” where he shoots girls in their own homes. Jamie Peeters wanted the girls to feel comfortable in there own homes, and step out of the comfortzone.

CREATOR

Jamie Peeters

RULES || RESTRICTIONS

– no rules, just let the models have fun and come out of your comfortzone.

COMMENTS

I know Jamie myself and after this big project he stopped fashion photography, now he only walks around with his analog camera.

He also made this project into a book, the book is full of girls who aren’t afraid to show herself. And that is something i really love about this project, he capture the girls at the moment that makes every girl special. You can feel the vibe, how the girls are in real life, aren’t afraid to walk naked in there rooms, or only with underwear.

‘The key in the hand’ by japanese artist chiharu shiota

3) CREATOR:
chiharu shiota weaves an immersive labyrinth of keys and yarn. The keys used in this wave are from all over the world. Collectect by the artist herself. The installation seeks to explore the notion of memory, using tens of thousands of keys collected from people across the globe in its realization. ‘keys are familiar and very valuable things that protect important people and spaces in our lives. they also inspire us to open the door to unknown worlds’ shiota explains.

‘with these thoughts in mind, in this new installation I would like to use keys provided by the general public that are imbued with various recollections and memories that have accumulated over a long period of daily use. as I create the work in the space, the memories of everyone who provides me with their keys will overlap with my own memories for the first time. these overlapping memories will in turn combine with those of the people from all over the world who come to see the biennale, giving them a chance to communicate in a new way and better understand each other’s feelings.’

ABOUT – This is a collection made up of self portraits that show an artists descent into Alzheimer’s disease. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 1995, artist William Mutermohlen set out to document himself slipping away through a series of self-portraits. The project spanned 8 years and shows the decline of his motor and perceptual skills as well as the emotional aspects associated with losing his reality. Mutermohlen’s project has helped psychologists to better understand this disease that affects over 1 in 8 elderly Americans and all of those who knew and loved them.

CREATOR – William Mutermohlen

RESTRICTIONS – Restrictions would be time and illness.

COMMENTS – I think this is a very sad but inspiring collection that can connect with others on many various deepening levels, whilst still managing to promote good, for a cause effecting his own health in the hope to help others like him.

ABOUT

Project “1+1” is a symbiosis of fashion art and photography. This project got known for it’s comparison of fashion to nature. But there also different comparisons, like fashion to art and architecture. This project got shown on social media and then it would say ‘Fashion inspired by Nature’, the joke is that the pictures are so well combined that it could be, but in reality the pictures are searched together.

CREATOR

Liliya Hudyakova

RULES

She picks designs of fashion shows from different designers and looks for/photographs nature/art that has a direct link to the fashion design.

COMMENT

I did doubt if this was a good example of open design. She did use rules and made a collection which is amazing to see. What I thought was very interesting is that this way of research could be used for actually making a design. For example people do only get their inspiration from nature.

ABOUT

The Vitruavian Paint Machine is a project that’s performed in the Van Abbemuseum. They made a painting on the walls which would by influenced by the visiting people. If visitors passed the painters it was possible to choose a color. Depending on the color and the people, the painters would change their painting.

CREATORS

The creators of this performance were Luna Maurer and Edo Paulus.

RULES/RESTRICTIONS

The creators worked with four different colors. Each color has a ‘rule-made-form’. But the creators weren’t the people who selected the colors, the audience did. So the audience would decide which color they had to use (next), so they decided partially what the painting would look like. The way of drawing would also change depending on how many people where in that room. The specific rules you can find on http://conditionaldesign.org/workshops/vitruvian-paint-machine/

COMMENT

This was a really interesting way of art I heard of in another class. I thought it was very interesting/fun that people could intervene and could decide what would happen next. It was very fun that we got the assignment to make drawings with rules of this kind of our own. It’s an easy example of intervening in someone’s project, but it does get amazing results.
