About

SUMDAY is an illustration/video project, with phrases from the bible.

The meaning of this project is that people can see the visual from the phrases.

“Life is all about making choices and seeking for answers, until Sumday..”

Sumday stands for ‘Summary’ and ‘Sunday’.

We make simple visuals that summarise the message of the sunday sermon at Life Access (www.lifeaccess.nl) every week.

Wilsun Cheung is a good friend of mine, he also studied at WDKA, Lifestyle and Design.

He has allot of projects, and as I knew him, he is always busy with the Bible, make it more fun. Or make it that people understand the Bible even more.

ABOUT

RULES || RESTRICTIONS

– there are acctually no rules, just placing a plant into the jungle, or other stuff

COMMENTS

I think URBAN JUNGLES is a new and refreshing project and new objects. It’s more of a interior thing then art I think.

RULES || RESTRICTIONS

– no rules, just let the models have fun and come out of your comfortzone.

COMMENTS

I know Jamie myself and after this big project he stopped fashion photography, now he only walks around with his analog camera.

He also made this project into a book, the book is full of girls who aren’t afraid to show herself. And that is something i really love about this project, he capture the girls at the moment that makes every girl special. You can feel the vibe, how the girls are in real life, aren’t afraid to walk naked in there rooms, or only with underwear.

About

Photographer Ari Versluis and profiler Ellie Uyttenbroek have worked together since October 1994. Inspired by a shared interest in the striking dress codes of various social groups, they have systematically documented numerous identities over the last 20 years. Rotterdam’s heterogeneous, multicultural street scene remains a major source of inspiration for Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek, although since 1998 they have also worked in many cities abroad.

They call their series Exactitudes: a contraction of exact and attitude. By registering their subjects in an identical framework, with similar poses and a strictly observed dress code, Versluis and Uyttenbroek provide an almost scientific, anthropological record of people’s attempts to distinguish themselves from others by assuming a group identity. The apparent contradiction between individuality and uniformity is, however, taken to such extremes in their arresting objective-looking photographic viewpoint and stylistic analysis that the artistic aspect clearly dominates the purely documentary element.

What makes the collection?

They create ‘collections’ of people, based on their analyzes.

Personal reflection

Their website creates a clear overview of different types of people. It’s very funny to see that some people think they’re one of a kind, but actually nobody is and eventually everybody belongs to a group.
